We all come into college looking for our people. People who will appreciate us for who we are, push us, and grow with us throughout our weird journey called college. But the question I found myself asking after a week or so in to school is where are these people found? Through out my first semester at Baylor numerous girls fell into my path that were thoughtful, consistent, and just straight up fun. The thing that all these girls had in common was that they were Baylor Chi Omegas. The way these girls loved so deeply astounded me. Even when I had only know them for a few months the way that Chi O’s continually sacrificed time to show that they cared for me made such a lasting impression. The kind of group that challenges each other to be better versions of themselves was what I wanted to be apart of, and I saw this oh so consistently in Chi O.
I have seen all of this exemplified even more so after joining Chi O. People who are ready to invest in your life whether it’s on a bad day or a great day. People who are huge supporters of belly laughs and acting like a goofball. People who know how to look towards a common goal, while also encouraging individuals to embrace the quirks that make us all unique. This is what I believe makes Baylor Chi O so special, we know that when different types of people come together and spur one another on in who that individual is incredible things will happen!
Within Chi O I feel like I'm not another thing on someone's to do list, but a priority. The investment made into each other is not taken lightly but is seen as a way to love and care for someone better. Chi O is full of girls willing to go beyond complacency in friendships and because of this has become home to some of the most impactful people in my life. At the end of the day I know that I could depend on any girl in Chi O, regardless of age, pledge class, or friend group. Knowing that I get to keep laughing through life with these people brings a squinty eyed smile to my face. It has been a privilege to be apart of your shenanigans Chi O; I can’t wait to see what lies ahead of us.
